The journey behind our newly launched Reading Central building is a real transformation story. It took an extensive £800K refurbishment project fund, enduring vision from our design and interiors team and tenacity and passion from our maintenance and operation teams. The end result is one we are truly proud of.
Amani Dia, Building Manager, helped to oversee the renovation: “We saw this project as the perfect opportunity to use our vision and imagination as well as our commercial property development skills. The end result is a real showcase of what the team here can do. Mapping our guests' journey from check-in to check-out was the first step to designing and delivering a seamless experience. We put ourselves in our guests’ shoes and paid attention to every detail. Both the private and communal living spaces have been completely transformed into inviting and comfortable areas and the feedback so far has been phenomenal.”
The renovation and transformation was initially driven by an increasing demand for high quality, spacious apartments in Reading; an area of high corporate density and a key player within the London commuter belt.
Upon securing the building, the interiors team at Viridian Apartments stamped their signature style on each apartment in turn and then turned to the communal areas. Our style is famous for its contemporary, design-led features which also offers the comforts and convenience of home. Throughout the building, from the bold walls of the reception to the scatter cushions on the beds, brand colours feature strongly within the palette, complemented by accent copper hints and geometric statement pieces. Specially commissioned Viridian Apartments artwork adorns the walls. Space and light are key, with generous square footage in all units and large windows and Juliette balconies which welcome in the natural light and provide views across the town.
In a distinct move away from traditional serviced apartment offerings, Viridian Apartments Reading Central also offers a multifunctional communal area on the ground floor including a café for guests and zoned spaces perfect for working or socialising. A pretty outdoor seating area with sheltered wooden pods is also provided.
Our before and after images here provide visual evidence of the lengths we've taken to ensure the ongoing comfort of our guests.
Bala Balasubramaniam, Chief Operations Officer: “The renovation of this building is a hugely successful transformation story and I am so proud of the team. The high specification, expertly refurbished apartments and welcoming communal areas will offer our guests a work, stay and rest model of serviced living with expert concierge on hand at all times.”
The Reading Central development comprises 44 units of studio, one- and two-bedrooms. Each has been beautifully refurbished and offers spacious, self-contained living for business and leisure guests looking for short or long stays.
