Things to do around Chelsea Serviced Apartments - Draycott Place

Introduction

Sloane Square underground station is 8 minutes' walk away, with Kensington, Victoria, Olympia and The City of London an easy tube ride away; some of London’s most iconic attractions, including Stamford Bridge, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Buckingham Palace and the Royal Albert Hall are all less than two miles away and easily reached by public transport. A few moments from our apartments you’ll find iconic King’s Road, boasting a wealth of shopping, bars, eateries and contemporary art exhibitions showcasing the work of emerging artists at the Saatchi Gallery – the artwork is certain to spark lively conversation! There are plenty of lovely side-streets to explore off King’s Road, including colourful Bywater Street which is flanked by townhouses with pastel-painted facades. Take a 13-minute walk towards the riverfront and you’ll discover the Chelsea Physic Garden, one of Britain’s oldest botanical gardens. Across Albert Bridge, you can explore the sprawling acres of greenery at Battersea Park, which has an English garden, pagoda, children’s zoo, boating lake and café where the whole family can while away a sunny afternoon.

Shopping

King’s Road is one of London’s best shopping destinations, with over 160 shops including the iconic Peter Jones department store, independent boutiques and well-known brands. Smaller retailers here include the fantastically creative Bimba y Lola (expect bright colours and seriously playful pieces), British perfume house Penhaligon’s, and Anthropologie, where you’ll find a curated selection of homeware, fashion and beauty from independent brands. Two minutes from our serviced apartments bookworms can get lost in the shelves at John Sandoe Books which are crammed with thousands of fiction, non-fiction and classic titles. For even more retail therapy, Knightsbridge is a pleasant 10-minute stroll away – here you can enjoy the wonderful shopping at Harrods, Harvey Nichols and the delights of designer shops and boutiques.

Food & Drink

This high-end London neighbourhood has a fittingly vibrant bar and restaurant scene, serving up a variety of delicious fare a stone’s throw from our serviced apartments. For fresh organic food all day, head to Daylesford Organic which has a café as well as a farm shop on site; while at Maitre Choux, you can purchase eclairs made by a three Michelin star-experienced chef. The idyllic Ivy Chelsea Garden courtyard is a perfect spot for brunch on a sunny day, while the art-filled interiors are a beautiful backdrop to the modern British menu. For dinner, there are plenty of options: for mouth-watering Indian food in an elegant townhouse, try Kutir, just three minutes’ walk from our apartments. Cinquecento is the place for Neapolitan pizzas and an extensive wine list served up in a cosy, charming space. Head to Dinings SW3 for sushi and cocktails, Ottolenghi Chelsea for Mediterranean-inspired bites or check out 28°-50° Chelsea for delicious European food in chic surrounds, and a curated wine list to pair.

Night Life

Described by the New York Times as "the most important theatre in Europe", the Royal Court is Britain's leading national company dedicated to showing work by innovative new writers – kick off your evening with a show that will no doubt spark lively conversation over drinks afterwards. And there are plenty of unique and quirky bars in the vicinity: Barts is a speakeasy cocktail bar with eccentric wall ornaments and dressing-up boxes (they also do a vintage afternoon tea) while at The Goat pub you can venture upstairs to enjoy cocktails in sultry surrounds. Towards Chelsea Harbour, 606 Club is a highly-rated jazz club and eclectic restaurant with nightly live music from British-based musicians: ingredients for a great night out!

Sitting proudly within the highly prestigious Sloane Avenue, just a few moments from glamourous Sloane Square and the retail and culinary delights of King's Road, our building here is the epitome of Victorian elegance.
