Around Ealing, hundreds of lime trees line elegant, residential avenues and extensive parklands add to the feeling of space and graciousness. Yet this is also a bustling, cosmopolitan community – with a theatre, cinema, comedy venues, music, a farmer’s market and good shopping and leisure centres. Our apartments are six minutes’ walk to Ealing Broadway station, where the Central, District and Elizabeth line provide an extensive transport network around the capital. Walpole Park, about 15 minutes’ walk from our apartments, is a Grade II listed, beautiful spot for a sunny stroll – stop in at the Pitzhanger Gallery to explore architect Sir John Soane’s former country home in what was then a rural Ealing; now open to the public as a contemporary art gallery.
Our West London serviced apartments are nine minutes’ walk from Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre. Here, you’ll find over 80 stores and popular retailers for fashion and footwear, technology, bookstores and homeware. There are also some great independent shops in the neighbourhood: Mooch is an award-winning purveyor of curated homeware, jewellery and clothing on Northfield Avenue; while The Store Collective, inside the shopping centre, is a family-owned business that supports and champions ethical and inclusive artisans, carrying a range of fashion, art and gifts. Foodies will love to visit the Ealing Farmer’s Market, which brings fruit, veg, award-winning diary items, artisan honeys, specialty coffee beans and so much more to Leeland Road every Saturday – it’s the perfect place to pick up gourmet ingredients to use in your apartment kitchen.
Start your morning in a café like WA (5 minutes’ walk), an independent patisserie that's ran by highly skilled Japanese bakers – every item is like a little work of art and goes well with the in-house coffee. Down by the Broadway, you’ll find coffee shops like Arise Coffee Roasters (8 minutes’ walk) and Blank Street Coffee (8 minutes’ walk), both great for a morning caffeine fix. The Broadway is also peppered with restaurants and eateries offering a range of cuisines. You might like to check out a local gastropub such as The Wheatsheaf (7 minutes’ walk), which has lovely rustic interiors and a menu of refined classics. Wine & Mousaka (5 minutes’ walk) is a family-run spot offering authentic Greek and Cypriot food with wines to pair. Polish bistro Lubczyk (9 minutes’ walk) is a popular place for comforting meals in a relaxed atmosphere, while Forno 22 (10 minutes’ walk) is a gourmet pizza bistro and wine bar. For a luxe sweet treat, check out Leonidas (8 minutes’ walk) where you can pick up a delicious array of gourmet chocolates.
Start your evening by catching the latest blockbusters showing at the Ealing Project cinema. On The Broadway you’ll find plenty of bars and pubs in which to enjoy an evening drink. The North Star is the perfect spot for a laid-back evening with friends while Cavalieri Bar (8 minutes’ walk) offers delicious cocktails and mocktails in trendy surroundings. A little further afield, No 17 Dickens Yard (10 minutes’ walk) is an independent neighbourhood bar with a great roof terrace in which to sip on a cocktail with friends or colleagues.
