Location: Ongar Road
Our serviced apartments on Ongar Road are situated a short walk from West Brompton station and in easy reach of the many attractions in Earl’s Court, Kensington and Chelsea, but there's plenty to enjoy in the local area too. This leafy suburb offers a taste of London living for those in town for leisure, while being the perfect base for a business traveller. The area is home to Stamford Bridge stadium, where the Chelsea Football Club plays – you can go behind-the-scenes with a tour. A cemetery might not be an obvious choice for an afternoon stroll, but Grade I listed Brompton Cemetery is actually a Royal Park! Explore historic monuments, enjoy tranquil greenery and learn the stories of the people interred in its beautiful landscape. Or perhaps head to urban winery London Cru, tucked down a side street two minutes from our apartments, where you can enjoy tastings, tours and regular events.
West Brompton Crossing is a ‘pop-up high street’ just a moment or two from our serviced apartments, with a great collection of independent restaurants, shops, pop-ups and event spaces to explore. West Brompton is also well-located for the shopping delights of Fulham, Kensington, Earl’s Court and Knightsbridge. Just two stops on the Overground will get you to Shepherd’s Bush, where you’ll find hundreds of big-name brands, designer stores and smaller boutiques at Westfield London. In nearby Chelsea, head to King’s Road for a mile of retail heaven; cult fashion stores include Anthropologie, Bimba y Lola and ME+EM while The Furniture Cave, a beautiful building in and of itself, boasts three floors of antique treasures. And of course, don’t miss out on a visit to iconic Harrods in Knightsbridge – explore the beauty halls, find a perfect outfit or head to the fresh market hall for premium seasonal produce.
You’ll immediately notice the jewel-toned exterior of The Hoarder on Lillie Road; inside you’ll find award-winning, world class coffee as well as pastries, nibbles and condiments to buy for later. For a heartier meal, a Michelin-starred lunch or dinner is a mere five minutes’ walk from our apartments at the Harwood Arms. Sustainability is a focus - the establishment proudly serves consciously-sourced British food, with a focus on game, using its rooftop vegetable garden for fresh and seasonal ingredients. Slightly further afield, The Fox and Pheasant has been serving English food and drinks since the 1840s; tucked away behind Stamford Bridge stadium, this charming tavern offers a country feel right in the heart of bustling West London. Enjoy homemade organic Mediterranean dishes at Jak’s King’s Road, head to La Pappardella for traditional Italian and amazing pizzas, or sample the tastiest borscht in London at Mriya Neo Bistro, which provides a modern twist on Ukrainian cuisine.
The Finborough Theatre, a short 10-minute stroll from our apartments, is a multi-award-winning local gem offering a programme of stimulating and inclusive theatre. After an evening show head to the Troubadour, London's original and last remaining independent live music venue from the coffee-house era. The stage has been graced by music legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Adele, and the venue still proudly hosts live music every night. For a perfect spot to meet with friends, head to neighbourhood wine bar Vagabond and sample some of the 100+ wines available, alongside some tapas-style sharing plates or a charcuterie board. And if you’re in the mood for something lively, late-night cocktail bar Simmons in nearby Fulham offers a long happy hour, a beer pong table and retro games consoles to keep you occupied.
