Introduction
Located between Bloomsbury, Marylebone and Soho, Fitzrovia benefits from various attractions in and around the area. Having once been home to literary greats such as Virginia Woolf and Arthur Rimbaud, the area has a bohemian charm all of its own, evident in the bustling streets, shops and squares. If you like to visit museums, there are plenty of quirky collections in walking distance: the Grant Museum of Zoology houses fascinating taxidermy and fossils, including extinct species; The Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology displays over 80,000 objects of Egyptian and Sudanese heritage; and exhibitions exploring science, medicine and health abound at the Wellcome Collection. Fans of musical theatre will love the area’s proximity to the Grade II listed Dominion Theatre, where there is a rotating programme of family-friendly shows to enjoy. And for green spaces, look no further than The Regent’s Park, just 12 minutes’ walk away: meander through Queen Mary’s Rose Gardens, visit the Boating Lake or enjoy a show at the open-air theatre.
