Things to do around Fulham Serviced Apartments - Hestercombe Avenue

Introduction

Upmarket Fulham is home to trendy shopping streets like Fulham Road, plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars, and riverside walks, making it a perfect area to stay. With Parsons Green and Putney Bridge underground stations a short walk from our apartments, the attractions of Wimbledon, Earl’s Court, Kensington, and central London can be easily reached via the District line; and corporate travellers can get to the business hubs of Hammersmith and the City with ease. Football fans are in luck too, with Craven Cottage (London’s oldest stadium and home to Fulham FC) and Stamford Bridge stadium (home to Chelsea FC) both less than 20 minutes’ walk away. The riverside Fulham Palace, about 10 minutes’ walk away, displays paintings, archaeology and artefacts tracing the history of the Palace site from prehistoric times, while the 13 acres of botanical gardens are a great place to enjoy a sunny afternoon. While there, stop in at Grade II listed Bishops Park, a lovely relaxing spot on the banks of the Thames, or head to nearby London Wetland Centre to explore a 100-acre nature hotspot.

Shopping

Fulham Road is lined with chic boutiques, home-goods stores, and posh delis; it’s also where you’ll find quirky, super-stacked Hurlingham Books, which has been established since 1968. At the very top of Fulham Road Brompton Cross (about 20 minutes from our apartments via the District line) is an upscale neighbourhood lined with premium fashionwear and lifestyle stores, such as Chanel, Maje and Percy Bass – make sure to admire the decorative art nouveau architecture of Michelin House while you’re there. King’s Road, Chelsea’s famous shopping street, and the vibrant hub of Duke of York Square can be reached in about 30 minutes by public transport, offering even more boutique and designer stores to explore.

Food & Drink

The proximity to bustling Fulham Road means you’re not short of options for places to eat and drink, with a variety of cuisines to sample. Tamini Lebanese Bakery is a compact, cosy neighbourhood spot offering excellent pastries and great weekend brunches if you can snag a table – and if you can’t, simply enjoy your meal back at your apartment! Exposed-brick walls house the trendy (and dog-friendly) spot Boys’n’Berry; it’s a great place to enjoy a morning coffee or grab lunch. Fancy traditional fish and chips? Award-winning Fishers is a brilliant chippie just 7 minutes’ walk from our apartments. Family-run La Pizzica offers a taste of the southern Italian food that its owners grew up with: think handmade pasta, pizza, seafood and grilled dishes. For something special, head to the River Café; a Fulham institution known for its mouthwatering, premium Italian food in a gorgeous riverside setting – it’s where the likes of Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall trained.

Night Life

Catch live music, comedy and more at nearby Hammersmith’s legendary performance venue the Apollo, which can be reached in around 15 minutes; or kick off the evening with thought-provoking theatre at the Lyric Hammersmith. The Little Blue Door is one of Fulham's best late night cocktail bars and restaurants serving up weekly supper clubs and bottomless brunches; the quirky venue is styled as a flat, offering you entrance to the coolest house party around, with delicious food and drinks to enjoy. Fan of bubbly? Amuse Bouche in Parsons Green is a brick-walled bar with botanical interiors, offering a variety of champagnes, original-recipe cocktails and nibbles on the side. Meanwhile neighbourhood wine bar Vagabond has been serving the Fulham community since 2010; stop in to sample one of the 100+ wines available by bottle or glass, with a side of charcuterie and cheese, in a relaxed environment. If you prefer something more low-key, popular pub the White Horse (10 minutes’ walk) is found in picturesque Parsons Green; beer lovers will enjoy the many varieties on offer, while the expansive garden and Victorian interiors make it a great spot, whatever the weather!

These centrally located and contemporary 1.5 bedroom and two bedroom serviced apartments are housed in a traditional Victorian building. The 1.5 bedroom apartments offer a spacious master bedroom featuring a double bed, in addition to a single bedroom which can be converted into a study room. One apartment benefits from a patio, another from a balcony.
