Viridian Apartments Kensington is set within a beautiful Victorian townhouse, located in a quiet residential street in the heart of Kensington, a famously upscale neighbourhood with a wealth of destinations on its doorstep.
Inside, one- and two-bedroom apartments are available, some with sought after private outside space. Each apartment has been recently refurbished and tastefully decorated and is equipped with modern amenities and comfortable furnishings. All apartments offer a fully fitted kitchen (including a dishwasher and a washer-dryer) a modern bathroom with shower, spacious open plan living areas with free Wi-Fi, TV and double-glazed windows.
This luxury location is less than 10 minutes’ walk to Earl's Court and Gloucester Road underground stations and a pleasant walk to High Street Kensington.
Lexham Gardens is a popular residential road lined with beautiful period properties. The location has easy access to the first-class shopping and dining opportunities on offer around Kensington High Street. Earl's Court and Gloucester Road tube stations are a few minutes' walk away with convenient onward travel to the key business hubs and tourism attractions around the capital. Some of the area’s best landmarks can be easily reached by public transport or even a leisurely stroll, including the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, V&A Museum, Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Gardens, so you are spoiled for choice when it comes to things to do. Two hidden gems to visit are Leighton House & Sambourne House, two neighbouring homes of Victorian artists which have now been turned into some of London’s most photogenic museums. And screen buffs should wander down Kynance Mews, which has appeared in several films including The Big Sleep, and in TV shows such as Netflix’s You.
Kensington High Street, a major shopping scene running from Hammersmith straight through to Kensington Gardens, is within easy walking distance. A wide variety of brand name stores, cafés and restaurants are on hand as well as a selection of high-end fashionable outlets on Kensington Church Street. If you're looking for antiques, the District and Circle Line connects you to Notting Hill Gate and Portobello Road Market. Oxford Street, one of Europe's most popular shopping destinations can also be reached easily by bus or tube.
Get your caffeine fix at cool Danish café Hjem; this snug community spot serves speciality coffee, pastries and bread, made using organic and locally-sourced ingredients. For lunch or dinner, you could try one of the nearby gastropubs. The Abingdon (10-minute walk) is a quaint art-deco spot that has been run by the Staples family since 1998 – head there for a modern British menu that celebrates the best of local, and a curated wine list to pair. Meanwhile, the stylish Devonshire Arms (5-minute walk) has a fabulous outside space in which to enjoy a summer evening meal and drink with friends or colleagues. French classics abound at Margaux (12-minute walk), a restaurant and wine bar in a stylish urban setting, while Dishoom (12-minute walk) is a popular spot for elevated Bombay comfort food and first-class drinks. And if you’re looking to use your fully-equipped apartment kitchen, a Sainsbury’s can be found just round the corner.
Theatre fans might like to visit the Royal Court, only 13 minutes away from our apartments via the District line at Earl’s Court station; it’s Britain's leading national theatre company dedicated to showing work by innovative new writers. For concerts, the Royal Albert Hall is one of the capital’s most iconic venues and the place to see the BBC Proms each summer. Cadogan Hall, about 15 minutes away by tube, is a historic classical music venue in nearby Chelsea and is home of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra – you’ll also find performances from jazz and folk musicians taking place here. For live music that is a little more laid back, Piano Kensington (13 minutes’ walk from our apartments) features an elongated bar and live piano music six nights a week, with jazz on Sundays, although you will need to book ahead. There are also plenty of pubs and bars in and around the area in which to enjoy an evening.
