Things to do around Marylebone Serviced Apartments - Miles Place

Introduction

Smart, thriving and bursting with class, this is a beautiful inner-city location and you’ll find our Miles Place serviced apartments situated right in the heart. The area is bordered by Soho, Camden Town, Mayfair, Fitzrovia, Paddington and The West End; all of which provide the perfect reason to centre yourself in this hub of activity and attraction. Edgeware Road station is a two-minute walk, where you can catch the Bakerloo, Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines around the capital. Paddington Station is around 13 minutes’ walk away, for onwards travel to the regions. The proximity to Paddington also means you can reach a lesser-known gem of London, Little Venice, in around 15 minutes’ walk. In this charming area, you’ll find quaint waterways and canal-side gardens to explore, as well as a plethora of restaurants and bars. You’re also within easy walking distance of the many cultural attractions of Marylebone, such as the Sherlock Holmes Museum, the Wallace Collection and Madame Tussauds, as well as the lush swathes of Regent’s Park.

Shopping

One of the best parts about the area is its relation to thriving centres of entertainment and shopping, easily reached via the excellent transport links at Edgware Road. Marylebone High Street is around 14 minutes away by tube, peppered with specialist boutiques selling fashion, accessories, homeware, beauty and more. Oxford Street, with its proliferation of designer shops, department stores and upmarket boutiques, can be reached in around 8 minutes via the Bakerloo line while the iconic Portobello Road Market is just 23 minutes away by tube. If you are here on a Sunday, visit the Marylebone Farmer's Market to explore a wide assortment of seasonal foods from artisan producers. There’s always something new, with excellent vegetables, fruit, seafood, meat and poultry sourced from British farms.

Food & Drink

Near our Miles Place apartments you’ll find plenty of spots to enjoy your morning coffee, a laid-back lunch or something for supper. About five minutes’ walk from Miles Place you’ll find coffee shop IRENE, brought to you by a family-owned artisanal bakery – head there for Gentleman Baristas coffees and fresh-baked pastries, perfect for a takeaway breakfast. For lunch, you could try wood-fired pizzas and Italian classics at Zonzo, or check out the mouthwatering delicacies at family-run Vietnamese restaurant Nep Nep. There are also some lovely dinner options alongside the Paddington arm of the Grand Union Canal, about 10-15 minutes walk from our Miles Place apartments, including some great canal-boat restaurants located on the water! The Cheese Barge is a cosy and quirky boat restaurant with an entirely cheese-based menu, plus innovative pairings of small-batch wines. At the family-run floating restaurant London Shell Co, you’ll find a menu of seafood and fish with a curated wine list to match. Meanwhile Bondi Green serves an expansive menu of Australian dishes, in stylish and funky interiors, with a terrace to enjoy the canal-side location on sunny days.

Night Life

Hop on the tube down to London’s West End, where you’ll find a plenty of theatres showing evening performances of drama, comedy, musicals, cabaret and more – there’s something to suit all tastes! Or perhaps try one of the great pubs and bars in the immediate area. Five minutes from our apartments, sophisticated cocktail bar The Perseverance Marylebone offers a speakeasy-style interior with innovative twists on your favourite classics, as well as a delicious selection of non-alcoholic treats too. The bar also hosts weekly live jazz nights. For a casual drink with family, friends or colleagues, try the Sir John Balcombe pub, about 13 minutes’ walk away – it was the site of the first Lord’s cricket ground and now serves delicious food in a bright, split-level building.

Marylebone Village is an affluent residential area, in the heart of the West End. It has a laid-back village feel and yet is also one of London’s most acclaimed shopping and dining areas.
