Richmond is a picturesque upmarket area of West London, steeped in culture and history. With stunning views of the Thames, the expansive plains of Richmond Park, historic royal houses and a high street studded with independent shops, restaurants and swish gastropubs, it’s easy to see why visitors flock here. Our centrally-located apartments are in easy reach of renowned attractions in the area. Take a pleasant stroll to Richmond Park to photograph the deer, or enjoy the botanical wonders of Kew Gardens. If you're a fan of historic architecture, you’re in luck: Hampton Court Palace (Henry VIII’s royal home), Marble Hill House and Ham House & Garden are all found in Richmond. The area also offers great arts venues: the Landmark Arts Centre offers an eclectic programme of music, comedy and annual arts fairs, while the Richmond Theatre is a popular choice for drama, comedy and children’s theatre. Another nearby destination is none other than Twickenham Stadium, a world-famous venue that is home to the England rugby team.
Richmond is certainly not short of places to shop, with a great mix of local suppliers, popular retailers and department stores on George Street and The Quadrant. Try Margaret Howell for contemporary designer fashion, L’Occitane for natural beauty, family-owned India Jane for refined homeware, or The Source Bulk Foods for plastic-free bulk food and household products. On the weekend, take a 10-minute stroll to Duck Pond Market, which hosts stalls from the best local crafters, artists, food producers and ethical businesses. Pick up some gourmet delights to enjoy back at your apartment, and enjoy the live music as you browse. Keep an eye out - famous faces have been known to attend too!
Well-known for its fantastic cafés, pubs and restaurants, Richmond has a vibrant and varied gastronomical scene. For a great breakfast and coffee, cosy Café Nano is just two minutes from our apartments. Or head down Worple Way to The Alberts Deli, an award-winning independent coffee shop serving breakfast, brunch and lunch options. There are also amazing places by the river that offer a warm welcome and great food and drink with a view. Peggy Jean at Riverside Green offers Australian-style brunches on a restored barge, Scott’s delivers exceptional seafood with a delightful waterfront terrace, and Stein’s brings you Bavarian dishes and German beers overlooking the Thames. The restaurant at Petersham Nurseries is quite unlike others: enjoy a seasonal menu under a canopy of fragrant blooms in this greenhouse restaurant, which has been awarded a Michelin Green Star to recognise its commitment to sustainability.
A show at the Richmond Theatre is a great way to kick-start your evening; it’s been a part of the Richmond community since 1899, offering quality drama, musicals, opera, and dance. If you’re interested in live music, The Mitre is a charming pub in a 19th-century building just 8 minutes’ walk from our apartments, with musicians playing every Sunday. The Richmond Vault also has live music as well as great cocktails and beers, and lots of cosy nooks in which to enjoy a drink with friends. For bars, there are plenty of choices within 10 minutes’ walk of our apartments. Dropkick Jonny’s is a secret whiskey and cocktail saloon housed in the attic at Tap Tavern while So Bar serves upmarket drinks in a sleek and intimate venue, as well as tapas. The vibrant botanical-themed interiors of Rock and Rose form a glamorous backdrop for the delicious cocktails on offer. No1a Duke Street, nestled near Richmond Green, is a neighbourhood staple offering contemporary surrounds, curated playlists and a great selection of drinks.
