Conveniently located near Pimlico underground station, our Westrovia serviced apartments are close to many of London’s most renowned landmarks and attractions. Buckingham Palace is around 20 minutes’ walk away, and nearby St James’s Park is great for a stroll – this Grade I listed royal park is known for its pelicans, which were originally gifted to Charles II in 1664! Alternatively, take a pleasant 7-minute walk from our apartments down to the riverfront, where you can stroll along Millbank with its excellent views of the Thames. On the way, stop in at the Tate Britain to explore 500 years of British art, from the pre-Raphaelites and JMW Turner to David Hockney and more. Then continue along the river until you reach the iconic landmarks of Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. Across Westminster Bridge you’ll find the towering London Eye and The London Aquarium, as well as the Southbank Centre, Europe’s largest centre for the arts. It comprises three performance venues and the Hayward Gallery, and is great for both children and adults alike.
The Victoria Place shopping centre, located inside the station, contains a variety of health and beauty, fashion and homeware stores, while Cardinal Place is a covered retail development near Westminster Cathedral. Inside you can shop high street brands or take a breather at one of the restaurants, and it also has a roof garden to enjoy on sunny days – there’s seating and Wi-Fi which makes it a lovely spot for an al-fresco lunch. London’s famous Oxford Street can be reached in about 10 minutes from our apartments via the London Underground from Pimlico – here you’ll find high street heroes alongside premium brands and designers. For boutiques, head to the famous Sloane Square shopping district, just one tube line stop from Victoria Station.
For breakfast or brunch, there are a few lovely options near our apartments. Tachbrook Bakery, Patisserie and Coffee Shop is a family-run neighbourhood spot, while The Roasting specialises in Italian espresso drinks and café eats. Or head to the Regency Café (6 minute walk from our apartments); opened in 1946, you might recognise this art-deco styled eatery from films such as Layer Cake, Brighton Rock and Rocketman! Make a stop at Market Halls Victoria (13 minute walk) where you can discover a diverse range of food vendors spread across three floors including Asian cuisine, tacos, burgers and more. For a fine dining experience, Muse by Tom Aikens (about 24 minutes from our apartments) offers a special menu from the Michelin-starred chef in an intimate mews house hosting just 25 covers. Other great options for dinner include Iberia, serving traditional Georgian dishes, or Lorne, a creative British restaurant with an elevated wine list – both are less than 10 minutes’ walk from our apartments.
Kick off your evening with a show and head towards Victoria station where you’ll find two West End theatres – the Victoria Palace Theatre directly opposite the front of the station and the Victoria Apollo Theatre, home to longstanding hit musical Wicked, around the side. Darts fans might want to check out trendy Flight Club Victoria to try their hand at the arrows. Westrovia has plenty of great pubs tucked away, from upscale gastropubs to historic boozers. CASK Pub & Kitchen, 3 minutes from our apartments, is the epitome of a ‘local’ – set up in 2009 by Pimlico resident Martin Hayes, this award-winning pub combines great food and world-class beers with weekly live music and a convivial atmosphere. The Marquis of Westminster (7 minute walk) offers sophisticated drinks and a menu of high-quality pub classics, while the Queens Arms has been serving pints to the people of Pimlico since 1846.
