From our West Finchley apartments, you can get to the glorious greenery of Hampstead Heath in around 13 minutes by car, or 30 minutes by tube. Explore the parkland that inspired both the Chronicles of Narnia and John Constable’s later paintings, and admire the city skyline from Parliament Hill. Nearby Kenwood House is one of London’s hidden gems – this mansion house on the edge of Hampstead Heath features a stunning art collection, including pieces by Vermeer, Rembrandt, Gainsborough, Turner and Constable, gorgeous gardens and beautiful interiors to marvel at. Fun can also be found at Finchley's Great North Leisure Park, which houses a lido, Vue multiplex cinema and bowling. Also nearby is Finchley Golf Club, a picturesque 18-hole parkland course just 13 minutes’ walk from our apartments.
Brent Cross Shopping Centre can be reached in less than 30 minutes; here you will find 120+ fashion, technology, jewellery, books and homeware stores, from high street heroes to curated smaller labels. Anthropologie houses boho-chic womenswear and home décor; Space NK collates niche and under-the-radar beauty brands; Kiehl’s offers luxury skincare as well as treatments; and Russell & Bromley sells upscale footwear. For designer brands and large flagship stores, head to London’s most popular shopping destination, Oxford Street – just 30 minutes away by tube.
There are a number of food and drink options in a short walking distance. Tintico’s Finchley location is a great spot for specialty ethically-sourced coffee and delicious pastries near Finchley Central station (13 minute walk). The House (12 minute walk) is a lovely Italian restaurant with rustic décor and a menu of classic pastas and pizzas, as well as weekend brunch. For sushi and Japanese dishes, try neighbourhood restaurant Taro (13 minute walk). On Regents Park Road, Vynam is an intimate dining room with a relaxed vibe and a menu of traditional Vietnamese dishes while Uncle Tony’s Taverna (13 minute walk) is a popular place serving traditional Greek food, with a convivial atmosphere and smart blue-and-white décor that brings a touch of Santorini to North London.
Head to the characterful King of Prussia pub (13 minute walk) on Regents Park Road for a rotating selection of craft beer, cocktails and regular events. There’s also a shuffleboard and jukebox which you can enjoy free of charge, making for a fun evening. A little further down the road is The Catcher in the Rye (15 minute walk), a local pub that has been serving up great food and drink to the Finchley community since 1994. With mismatched wooden chairs and Chesterfield sofas, as well as a sunny patio, it’s a great spot to enjoy an evening whatever the weather. Ahir Lorenzo’s is another longstanding Finchley bar, having been opened in 1996. There are four areas inside including a main bar, an area for live music, a lounge with a pool table and a garden for sunny evenings.
