Location: Comeragh Road
West Kensington, found between the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea, is a bustling residential area home to the Olympia London events centre, busy North End Road, and the historic Queen’s Club which hosts tennis tournaments throughout the year. With our apartments just six minutes’ walk to West Kensington underground station, some of London’s best attractions are easily reached via the District Line. One of the grandest is none other than Kensington Palace, set in picturesque Kensington Gardens, adjoining Hyde Park. The staterooms and gardens are open to the public, a must-see trip if you wish to discover the birthplace and childhood of Queen Victoria. An 11-minute tube ride will get you to South Kensington, home of several iconic cultural landmarks: explore fossils at the Natural History Museum, art at the Victoria & Albert Museum, fun educational exhibitions at the Science Museum, and concerts at the Royal Albert Hall.
After a quick tube journey, shoppers can enjoy browsing the boutique and antique stores along Kensington High Street. You can also visit the neighbouring Kensington Church Street, an older section of town that's great for window shopping, with its beautiful flower decorations and delightful pubs, one of the most famous being the eccentrically British Churchill Arms. There are also a number of antiques shops along Kensington Church Street as well as vintage and preloved menswear at Hornets. Further afield, it doesn’t take long to get to some of London’s other shopping destinations from our apartments: iconic luxury department store Harrods is reached within 16 minutes; the boutiques of Notting Hill are 20 minutes away; famous Portobello Road Market is 23 minutes away; and the expansive Westfield London shopping centre can be reached in around 22 minutes.
About 10 minutes’ walk away, Carbon Kopi is a mellow café with outdoor tables, artisanal coffee and baked snacks – the homemade sourdough toasties are a hit with locals! Head to all-day café Popin for everything from breakfast and brunch through to evening cocktails, or try the amazing brunch menu at hip eatery Brioche Café. For dinner, AperiPasta offers delicious home-style Italian food with a family atmosphere, just five minutes from our apartments. Nearby Kensington High Street is lined with intriguing cafés and restaurants, one of the most popular being Romulo Cafe (20 minutes’ walk or 13 minutes by public transport). Embark on a culinary journey to learn more about their delicious, flavorful, and historically rich Filipino cuisine. Fancy using your apartment kitchen to rustle up a meal? The weekly Brook Green Market sees around 40 traders selling farm-fresh organic produce and globe-trotting street food, as well as boutique wine and craft alcohol. This neighbourhood gem of a farmer’s market makes for a great day out, while also providing all the ingredients you’ll need to make a gourmet dish at your home away from home.
It might only have 52 seats, but the Barons Court Theatre has been staging performances for the West Kensington community since 1991. Located in the basement of The Curtain’s Up pub, the theatre focuses on supporting emerging and early-career artists with an eclectic programme; what’s more, it’s only a two-minute walk from our apartments, making it a great spot to kick-start your evening. Other theatres easily reached from our apartments include the Finborough Theatre in Earl’s Court and the Lyric in Hammersmith. Alternatively, check out one of the pubs or bars in the vicinity. The Elm is a trendy pub with a cosy beer garden on North End Road, while The Melody Whisky Bar, about 10 minutes’ walk away on Hammersmith Road, offers over 600 whiskies from around the world.
